The Samsung LS22F350FHNXZA is a bargain-basement priced 22 inch (21.5″) monitor that comes from a top of the line manufacturer. This display is advertised as being a 22-inch monitor but in reality, it is a 21.5″ monitor, so be aware of that if you plan to add this monitor to a multiple monitor setup. The resolution is Full HD at 1920×1080 pixels which I believe to be the perfect resolution for a 20-25 inch monitor. It has both HDMI and VGA D-sub connections for maximum compatibility.
The days of sub-FHD monitors are certainly numbered, even more so with the advent of the 4K UHD standard. I wouldn’t recommend any monitor lower than 1920×1080 pixels these days as it has become more of a standard than a crowning achievement. Just take this monitor for example. This is a sub-$100 monitor from a well-known manufacturer that offers full HD 1080p resolution. Why settle for anything less? You’d be lucky to find another monitor cheaper than this, and if you do, it won’t be by much.
Slim Design and Glossy Finish
The slim design is great! The thinner the better. I think this more or less goes without saying. What I really dislike is the glossy finish on the plastic casing (not the screen). Yes, it may look nice a shiny, however, it’s going to show dust about 10 times as much as a matte finish and it will be easily smudged. On a TV, I don’t mind this at all, mostly because I don’t sit 18 inches away from my TV. Unless you plan on cleaning this monitor often, or simply don’t give a flying F, go ahead and go with glossy.
5 ms Response Time
This isn’t really a selling point as much as it is crossing off a reason NOT to buy this monitor. Most budget monitors won’t even list their response time because it’s likely somewhere around 10-12ms. This monitor comes in at a very respectable 5 ms response time. Most gaming monitors will likely fall around 1-2 ms, so 5 ms isn’t really that far off. It’s not the best in the world but certainly worth mentioning considering how bad one would have to assume it was if not specified.
Legacy and Modern Connectivity
The cool thing about this monitor is that they offer a connectivity option for both older and newer technology. The VGA D-sub port will support just about every computer ever created (before HDMI and other newer standards came out). The HDMI connection will support just about any modern connection as HDMI can also be easily converted to DVI if needed. If you’re looking for even better connectivity such as DisplayPort or USB then you’re out of luck on this one. You’ll likely need to spend another $50 or more to find a monitor suitable to your needs.

At this time, the Samsung LS22F350FHNXZA has very few customer reviews posted on Amazon. Normally, I wouldn’t even consider reviewing a product that has a really low average rating. However, this particular customer was simply agitated by the fact that this monitor was 21.5 inches and not 22 inches as advertised. Once you get past this fact their review and rating holds very little water and isn’t that helpful.
