The LG 29UM67 is a 29 inch ultrawide IPS gaming monitor that offers lots of nice features including FreeSync, Black Stabilizer, Dynamic Action Sync, and 3 unique gaming modes. It has a WFHD resolution of 2560×1080, 300 cd/m2 brightness, and is EnergyStar certified. This is a really high quality panel from LG that comes in at a really nice price. Definitely worth checking this one out.
FreeSync technology allows your monitor’s refresh rate to dynamically match your video card’s output. This results in a picture that is free from jitter, blur and other distortions associated with rapid movement in high FPS games. Unlike NVIDIA’s G-sync technology, FreeSync is (like the name implies) free for any hardware manufacturer to use. If your video card is FreeSync compatible you can take advantage of this technology when you connect using DisplayPort.
21:9 UltraWide Cinematic View
The wider your screen is, the more immersive your experience becomes when playing games or watching movies. Most major movies are shot with a 21:9 aspect ratio. You ever notice how even though you have a widescreen TV or monitor there are still black bars on the top and bottom of the screen when watching a movie? With a 21:9 monitor this will no longer be an issue. You will be able to enjoy all of your favorite movies and games using the entire screen.
Dynamic Action Sync
This is not to be confused with FreeSync or G-Sync technology. Dynamic Action Sync works by helping to sync your device input with what is being displayed on your screen. It helps to eliminate input latency so you can enjoy your games with a real-time feel.
I think it’s incredibly important to have a monitor with Black Stabilizer technology if you are a gamer. The black stabilizer works by helping to make black scenes more visible without washing them out with too much brightness. Easily sneak up on your opponents in the dark or see your way through treacherous obstacles without succumbing to darkness.
3 Gaming Modes
Take your gaming to the next level with the 3 built-in gaming modes. There are two modes to supplement your FPS games and, unlike other monitors with gaming modes, another mode to help with Real-Time Strategy games.
Although the color gamut isn’t quite 100% sRGB, it’s very close. So close that you probably won’t be able to tell the difference between this display and a 100% sRGB monitor. The wide color gamut creates a more realistic color spectrum allowing you to see an image more like the one the original artist had intended to show you. Everything is bright and colorful without any dullness or off coloring.
