Atron Vision AVF240 Review

The Atron Vision AVF240 is a Full HD (1920×1080) 24-inch gaming monitor that boasts some fairly impressive specs for a very low price. It has a native refresh rate of 144 Hz that can be driven even higher through overclocking. It also has a super fast 1 ms response time that helps to eliminate ghosting and blurry images during high-action. You can connect to this monitor using your choice of VGA, DVI-I or HDMI.

24 inch Display at 1920×1080 Resolution

When it comes to monitors, bigger isn’t necessarily better. If you want to go for one of those huge 30+ inch monitors you will probably want to get one with 4K resolution so the text and images don’t look grainy. The only problem is that a 30+ inch monitor at 4K resolution will cost you about four times as much as this display. A full HD display at 24 inches is the perfect size and resolution if you’re on a budget.

144 Hz Native Refresh Rate

The native refresh rate of this monitor is 144 Hz when connected via the DVI connection. This monitor can even be overclocked to perform even faster, depending on your graphics adapter. If you play games that push the FPS limits, you will want a monitor with an extremely high refresh rate and an extremely low response time.

1ms Response Time

This is the fastest response rate that exists, as far as I know. Even if a faster response rate existed you would probably have a hard time noticing the difference anyway. The response time is how fast a pixel can change. The faster pixels change the clearer and sharper the image looks when there’s a lot of fast action on the screen. This makes this monitor perfect for gaming, watching sports or any other intense action.

Pushing 60+ FPS?

If you are then you’re definitely going to want a monitor like this one. It offers impressive specs for a very reasonable price. It isn’t the biggest or best monitor in the world but it definitely offers a lot of value for the price.

Built-In Speakers

Not all monitors have built-in speakers, although I wish they did. What’s the point of having an HDMI port capable of transmitting sound if you’re not going to have any speakers to output that sound too? Some monitors make up for this shortcoming by providing an audio-out port. Some completely ignore the issue. With this monitor, you’ll have no problem connecting your favorite game console and using it just like a regular TV (minus the over-the-air tuner of course).

Line of Sight Mode

This low-cost gaming monitor offers a lot of cool features. One of the coolest is the line of sight mode that places a cross-hair on your screen. You can easily line up targets and frag away in your favorite first-person shooter.

Connect Almost Anything

This monitor has a legacy VGA D-sub port for old school video cards. It also has DVI-I and HDMI digital connections for modern devices. The only thing that it lacks is a Display Port or a USB 3.1 Type-C connection. This is a budget monitor though and you can’t expect too much out of it.
