Asus PB328Q Review

The ASUS PB328Q is a mid-range 32-inch WQHD monitor that offers a lot of value for the price. While it may not be a top of the line gaming monitor, it is certainly much more competent than the average display. The 2560×1440 pixel resolution, along with a mind-boggling 100,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio and 100% sRGB color spectrum coverage give you a really nice picture for a monitor in this price range. I would definitely recommend this monitor to digital professionals and casual gamers, especially used in a multiple-monitor setup.

WQHD Resolution

This is easily the number one reason to pick up this monitor, other than the fact that it’s made by Asus. WQHD resolution is also known as Quad-HD. The resolution is 2560×1440 pixels so it is somewhere between Full HD and 4K UHD. This is a BIG, monitor, make no mistake. The high resolution ensures a crystal clear image without any pixelated text or images. Would I recommend this monitor over a 4K UHD monitor? That all depends on what you plan on doing. A monitor of this size could certainly benefit from a higher resolution although the cost to performance ratio doesn’t make sense to me unless you were a digital artist or a gamer who demands the absolute best. Otherwise, this is a very competent monitor with an adequate resolution for the money.

100% of the sRGB Color Space

As I have said countless times before, having a high-resolution monitor is great but having a high-resolution monitor with an ultra-wide color gamut is even better. Resolution mainly relates to the sharpness or clarity of the image on your screen. The depth of a monitor’s color gamut will determine how realistic or lifelike the images on the screen appear. The 100,000,000 dynamic contrast ratio this monitor can achieve is a testament to the extremes it can produce in terms of vivid bright colors and super dark blacks. This contrast ratio is really the driving force behind this monitor’s ability to reproduce 100% of the sRGB color spectrum and create incredibly lifelike reproductions that the original artists and programmers intended.

A Whole Lot of Ports

Of course, since this is a mid-range monitor you’re not going to get any fancy features like a USB-C port, however, it certainly has all of the other bases covered. You can connect using HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI-D or the somewhat antiquated VGA D-Sub connector. There’s also four USB 3.0 ports that turn this monitor into an awesome desktop charging station you can use to charge your phone, tablet, or other devices. You could even use this monitor as a USB hub that seconds as a docking station for connecting your desktop peripherals to your laptop while also providing you with dual-displays.

Super Narrow Bezel

Like a wise man once said, once you go super narrow bezel, you never go back. This is especially true if you plan on running multiple-monitor configurations. Having two 32 inch monitors on your desktop at the same time is absolutely mind boggling. Two monitors with WQHD of this size will give you an almost unlimited amount of working space to tackle any project easily. The narrow bezel will seamlessly integrate your desktops allowing you to work smarter instead of harder.

Quick Release Ergonomic Stand

I really appreciate the fact that ASUS included an ergonomic stand in this mid-range monitor. Usually, only high-end monitors have the luxury of an ergonomic stand that you can use to tilt or turn the monitor in any way you like. The quick-release function allows you to quickly and easily change the configuration of your monitor stand on the fly.
