The new ASUS E200HA-UB02-GD is a lightweight, compact laptop that’s perfect for someone who doesn’t need a lot of computing power and has a tight budget. It has 4 GB of RAM, which is enough to handle basic multi-tasking and Internet tabbing. The 32 GB of storage is somewhat limited, although it is SSD storage, so your operating system and apps will load quickly. The screen only has a 1366×768 pixel resolution, but anything higher than that wouldn’t look that great on the tiny 11.6-inch screen.
Super Lightweight and Compact
The first thing you’ll notice about the ASUS E200HA-UB02-GD is how lightweight and compact it is. It’s extremely thin and weighs just above 2 pounds. If you throw it in your purse or backpack, you’ll hardly even notice it’s in there.
Windows 10 and Office 365
This laptop has the latest generation Microsoft Windows 10. It also comes with one year of free access to Office 365. You will have everything you need to accomplish basic tasks like word processing, spreadsheets, watching videos, and more.
Intel Atom Quad-Core Processor
Intel Atom processors are designed for mobile applications. They use very little power and give off very little heat. This helps to extend your battery life as well as the overall life of your laptop. The Intel Atom Z8350 processor in this laptop is clocked at 1.44 GHz and can jump to 1.92 GHz when needed with turbo mode.
Small Laptop – Full Size Keyboard and Large Trackpad
While this laptop is small, you won’t feel cramped with the full-size chiclet keyboard and large trackpad. The trackpad is multi-touch so you can use intuitive gestures like swiping with two fingers to scroll or pinching and expanding to zoom.
A Battery that Lasts All Day
The 38 Whrs polymer battery is rated at about 13 hours of use by the manufacturer. However, this depends on how you use the laptop. It might last a lot longer with the display fully dimmed or not last as long if you’re trying to do something intensive like encoding a video.
Multi-User MIMO 802.11ac WiFi
802.11ac multi-user MIMO is the best WIFI option currently available on the market. If you have a newer router that supports 802.11ac with multi-user MIMO your WIFI will be incredibly fast. If you have an older 802.11N/G router, you probably won’t notice much of a difference.

The ASUS E200HA-UB02-GD has received A LOT of really positive reviews from customers online. Most people appreciate the portability, the connectivity, the battery life, and the above average LCD.
What people tended NOT to like was the fact that the color of the laptop is slightly different than what’s shown in the pictures. They also don’t like the fact that the RAM is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded or replaced.

ASUS E200HA-UB02-GD Vs HP 14-an013nr Vs ASUS C201 Chromebook
Let’s take a look at a few comparable models to help you make a better decision. All of these models are in the same price range and have similar hardware specifications.
|1.44 GHz||4 GB||32 GB||1366 X 768||2.2 LBS|
|1.8 GHz||4 GB||32 GB||1920 X 1080||3.86 LBS|
ASUS C201 Chromebook
|1.8 GHz||4 GB||16 GB||1366 x 768||2 LBS|
As you can see, the HP 14-an013nr is the only model with a 1920×1080 pixel Full HD display. It also has a 14-inch display as opposed to the 11.6-inch displays that the other two models have. The processor is faster as well, although none of these models have a lot of power in that department. The only downside is that the HP weighs about twice as much and has a much larger footprint.
The ASUS C201 Chromebook is the odd man out. Just to be clear, the ASUS Chromebook is NOT a traditional Windows laptop. If you’re not familiar with Chromebooks then check this out before even considering this model.
The ASUS E200HA-UB02-GD is the best choice out of the three if you’re looking for portability. You can easily slip this little notebook into your purse or backpack and hit the road. This laptop will work well if you plan to use it for basic tasks such as watching videos, listening to music, or surfing the web.
What Version of Windows is Installed on this PC?
This laptop comes fully loaded with Windows 10 64-bit.
Can You Upgrade the Hard Drive and RAM?
The RAM and hard drive CANNOT be upgraded on this model. You’re kind of stuck with what you get here. If you need more storage, you can use an external storage device or store files in the cloud.
Additionally, you can use a USB memory stick to extend your RAM using Windows ReadyBoost or by just configuring your virtual memory to be stored on the USB drive. You can find out more about these methods by clicking here.
What is the Battery Life Like?
Thanks to the modern processor and SSD storage, you can expect your battery life to be anywhere from 8-12 hours with this laptop. Of course, this all depends on how you use it. If you’re using processor-intensive applications with the screen on your battery won’t last as long. However, if you’re listening to music with your headphones with the screen closed you could expect your battery to last even longer than 12 hours.
Does this Laptop have a Webcam?
Yes, this laptop does come with a webcam. If you look closely at the pictures you can see it at the top of the display. The image quality isn’t the best in the world, but it’s better than nothing.
Can I Play Games?
You can play basic games on this laptop but nothing that requires a halfway decent video card like all the modern first person shooter games. This is NOT a gaming laptop. However, you can probably play any game that doesn’t use a lot of 3D graphics like Flash games or other web based games.
Can I use a Micro SD Card?
Yes, this system has a Micro SD card slot built in.
Does it Have a Touchscreen?
No, this is just a regular display and NOT a touchscreen. I believe that touchscreens are bit overrated when using Windows 10 and a little bit of a gimmick. That’s just my opinion, though.
Is this a Good Laptop for a College Student?
Most definitely. This laptop would work well for basic applications like word processing and spreadsheets. It’s also very light and thin which makes it perfect for taking to class or using in a small space like a dorm room.
Does it Come with a Charger?
Yes, of course, it does. Any laptop you buy brand new will come with a charger.
Can I Use an External Hard Drive?
Not only can you use one, but this laptop has a USB 3.0 port on it that’s MUCH faster than traditional USB 1.0/2.0 ports. Copying files to and from this laptop, or simply accessing media, is fast. As long as the external hard drive is USB, it will work with this laptop regardless of the size of the hard drive.
How Do I Install a Printer or Other Device with No CD-ROM Drive?
Windows 10 will have many, many software drives already installed. Windows can also search the web to find the drivers you need for your new hardware. If Windows is unable to find the software drivers automatically, you can visit the hardware manufacturer’s website to download the drivers you need.
Is the Touchapd Multi-Touch?
Yes, the touchpad is multi-touch meaning it can sense more than one finger. This means you can use gestures like scrolling down with two fingers.
Does this Laptop Have an HDMI Port?
Yes, it DOES have an HDMI connection. However, it is Micro HDMI meaning you can’t connect to it using a standard HDMI cable. If you want to connect this laptop to your TV or monitor with HDMI, you will either need a Micro HDMI adapter or an HDMI cable that has a Micro HDMI connection at one end and a regular HDMI connection at the other end.
Is the Display HD?
The display is HD, but it is NOT Full HD. Standard HD (720p) is 1280 x 720 pixels. Full HD (1080p) is 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display on this laptop is 1366 x 768 pixels which means it’s slightly higher than 720p HD but LOWER than 1920×1080 Full HD.
If you’re in the market for a laptop in the $200-300 price range, then the ASUS E200HA-UB02-GD is an excellent choice. I would recommend it over some of the large, bulky 15.6-inch laptop models, especially for college students. You get a laptop from one of the best brands in the industry at about half the price of a 15.6-inch model. The battery life is good, the performance isn’t bad for the money, and the new Windows 10 operating system is far superior to a Chromebook.
