AOC C2783FQ Review

The AOC C2783FQ is a 27 inch Full HD (1920×1080) Curved WLED VA monitor that fills the mid-range monitor void quite nicely. It’s rated at 300 cd/m2 brightness with an impressive 50 million to 1 contrast ratio that provides cool, rich blacks along with bright vivid colors. You can connect to this monitor using VGA, DVI or HDMI (with MHL support). While this monitor is lacking speakers, it does have a headphone jack you can use to connect headphones or another set of speakers.

Extra Narrow Bezel

This is really a nice slim, attractive monitor. The extra narrow bezel gives this display a very modern appeal. If you’ve got a tight space, this monitor will certainly fit in nicely.

A More Immersive Experience

Ok, so the main selling point of a curved monitor is the fact that it can provide a “more immersive experience”. I definitely think this is the case if you put two or three of them together. As far as a single curved monitor providing a more immersive experience, I have my doubts. But if you string these things together the curve of the display provides a really nice angle compared to putting two completely flat monitors together. The curved screens will begin to wrap around your field of view, as opposed to flat monitors that create rigid angles.

Super Bright – High Contrast

Brightness is a monitor feature that is often overlooked. Most people fail to understand that the level of brightness possible in a display determines not only how much contrast you can achieve but also what colors can be represented. This screen is rated at 300 cd/m2 with a dynamic contrast ratio of 50 million to 1. This means that everything will look a lot more natural with dark blacks and bright colors.

5ms Response Time

A 5ms response time is sort of right in the middle of the Bell Curve. It’s not the very best available, however, it’s not even close to the worst. Anything about 10ms is going to be noticeable, especially in gaming. Anything below 5ms is going to be fast enough to almost completely eliminate ghosting and also display lag. 5ms is good. It’s not bad and it’s not great.

The good thing about this monitor is that it has a wide variety of connections available. It has a standard VGA d-sub port, an HDMI port that’s compatible with MHL and a Display Port. I really like that the engineers at AOC were competent enough to include the headphone jack, considering that this monitor is completely void of speakers. You could connect your favorite console to this monitor but you’re going to need headphones or a set of external speakers to hear anything.

Customer Reviews

The AOC C2783FQ is a fairly new product, and like you may have already discovered, customer reviews are few and far between at the moment. However, on Amazon, there are seven customer reviews and they’re all very positive. The only real downside I saw posted so far is the fact that this monitor isn’t VESA compatible so you can forget about mounting it to your wall.
