            • 2 GB of RAM
            • Weak Multitasking

The Acer CB3-131-C3SZ is the new 2016 Acer Chromebook 11 model that offers a lot of nice upgrades including an IPS display panel and newer Celeron N2840 processor. The aluminum chassis is thin and light, and the ChromeOS is super fast and easy to use. This subnotebook is ideal for email, web browsing, and other basic tasks.

            Intel Celeron N2840

This new Acer Chromebook 11 comes with an upgraded dual-core Intel Celeron N2840 processor with a 2.16 GHz clock speed. While this processor is still a little bit outdated, being released in 2014, it provides a noticeable boost over the previous model. You won’t be doing any hardcore computing, but you should be able to accomplish tasks on the web without any trouble.

            2 GB DDR3L SDRAM

There’s a lot I really love about this laptop. The 2GB of RAM is not one of those things. The difference between 2GB and 4GB of RAM is probably pennies to a manufacturer who creates millions of laptops. Why not give this Chromebook a fighting chance at multitasking with a little more RAM? It’s hardly a fair complaint, though, considering it is a sub-$200 subnotebook.

            16 GB SSD

I really like the fact that almost every Chromebook on the market is coming out with SSD storage. SSD drives are faster and less prone to failure. You might be storing most of your data in the cloud, however, a hard drive failure is always a pain even if you don’t lose any of you own personal stuff. 16 GB isn’t a whole lot of space, you won’t be storing a video archive, but it’s enough to accommodate the operating system and some additional temporary storage.

            11.6-Inch HD IPS Screen

Once upon a time it was extremely rare to see a Chromebook with an IPS display panel. Then the Toshiba Chromebook 2 emerged as the most well reviewed Chromebook ever, sporting a Full HD IPS panel that looked 20 times better than anything the competition was putting out at the time. Now Acer has come out with a low-cost Chromebook with a beautiful IPS display and Chromebook lovers can finally rejoice in an IPS panel in the sub-$200 price range.

            Patterned Aluminum Cover

For me, this is the most welcome upgrade of all over the previous Acer Chromebook 11. The patterned aluminum has such a nice grip and feel. It helps to keep the laptop feeling cool and does a lot to keep it looking cool as well. I’d really like to see a full aluminum chassis on more laptops coming out in 2016 and 2017. I’m a huge fan of this trend.
